The <\/span>Apocalypse, <\/b>also known as <\/span>the Book of Revelation<\/b>is the last book of the <\/span>New Testament <\/span><\/i>and of the<\/span> Christian Bible<\/b>. The <\/span>origin<\/b> of its name comes from the Greek word <\/span>\u1f00\u03c0\u03bf\u03ba\u03ac\u03bb\u03c5\u03c8\u03b9\u03c2 \u1f00\u03c0\u03bf\u03ba\u03ac\u03bb\u03c5\u03c8\u03b9\u03c2 <\/span><\/i>, meaning “revelation” or “discovery”, although the <\/span> current <\/span>meaning<\/b> of <\/span>Apocalypse is closer to that of catastrophe or hecatomb<\/span>.<\/p>\n

It is a <\/span>prophetic book <\/b>which narrates different events related to the<\/span> end of the world. <\/b>The authorship of the <\/span>Apocalypse <\/b>is attributed to the <\/span>apostle<\/a> John <\/b>It was written at the end of the first century or beginning of the second century, at the height of the Roman persecution against the Christians. <\/span>St. John, who was in exile on the island of Patmos, had a revelation and was commissioned by the Holy Spirit<\/a> to write down his visions and send it to the seven churches: <\/span>Ephesus<\/span>, <\/span>Smyrna<\/span>, <\/span>Pergamum<\/span>, <\/span>Thyatira<\/span>, <\/span>Sardis<\/span>, <\/span>Philadelphia<\/span> y <\/span>Laodicea<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n
