Upon his firstborn let him lay the foundations of it, and upon his youngest son let him set its gates.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>27 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So the LORD was with Joshua, and his name was spread throughout all the land.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Explanation_and_meaning_of_Joshua_6\"><\/span><b>Explanation and meaning of Joshua 6<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">First of all, we want to show you an interesting fact that you may not have known. The <\/span><b>names of the biblical characters<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are very important and give you an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tubibliaonline.com\/en\/verses-on-wisdom\/\">understanding<\/a> of the mission of each one of them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In this case, we find the name Joshua, which in ancient Hebrew means &#8220;<\/span><b>God saves<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;. This detail is fundamental if we take into account the context in which those people found themselves after walking for so long in the desert.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Their former leader was Moses, a name of Egyptian origin and apparently of no further significance. In Joshua, after Moses&#039; death, Joshua leads Israel and they settle in the promised land currently occupied by Canaanites. #Joshua #BibleProject #BibleVideo\"><\/div><\/div><div class=\"lL\" style=\"max-width:100%;width:640px;margin:5px auto;\"><\/div><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Context_of_Joshua_6_in_the_Bible\"><\/span><b>Context of Joshua 6 in the Bible<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you want to locate the Book of Joshua in the Bible, you should look towards the beginning, in <\/span><b>the Old Testament. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After the book of Deuteronomy, which closes the group of books called the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tubibliaonline.com\/en\/meaning-of-pentateuch\/\">Pentateuch<\/a> and which were almost entirely written by Moses.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Apart from a few exceptions, the Bible is <\/span><b>narrated chronologically <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">so if you read from Genesis to Deuteronomy, you will know the background that has brought the Israelites to where they are at the time of Joshua.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But don&#8217;t worry, as we will give you a brief summary of the history of the <\/span><b>summary of the story<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> closer to this chapter and thus put you in the situation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Moses, after God revealed Himself to him, leads the Jewish people out of the Egypt of the Pharaohs in a miraculous feat never to be repeated. We are currently <\/span><b>in Exodus <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">where the Hebrew people were to spend years walking and being tempted to sin.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Their journey was bound for <\/span><b>the promised land <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Israel, which at that time was a fertile land with many opportunities for living. But at that time, there were already living there some pagan tribes that confronted them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Many episodes happened during his journey and Moses, always guided by God, laid the foundations of the doctrine and <\/span><b>the worship of the Lord<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and that many of them are still valid today.
