He is part of this group of prophets because his work is quite short, with a total of only 53 verses.<\/p>\n<p>What little information is known about his life can be gleaned from the very book he wrote, the Book of Zephaniah. In the first chapter he mentions a little of his genealogy, implying that he comes from a lineage of royalty, being himself a <strong>great-grandson of King Hezekiah<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In this it would resemble Isaiah, which is also related to the royal family, although in a different period.
