We will also quote those proverbs that we find most beautiful so that you can easily share them with your loved ones.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Proverb 23 1-3<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The first three verses explain to us that we <strong>should take precautions when sitting with someone influential<\/strong>, since it could be that he might try to bribe us or use us for his purposes. We are also told not to be envious of their material goods.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Proverb 23 4-5<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Verses 4 and 5 show us with a<strong> beautiful metaphor the fragility of material wealth<\/strong>. Money can go as fast as it has come and, when we die, it will be of no use to us to enter the Kingdom of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tubibliaonline.com\/en\/god-accurate-bible\/\">God<\/a>. We see this with the metaphor of the wings in verse 5:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Wilt thou set thine eyes upon riches, being no riches?<\/p>\n<p>Because they will become wings<\/p>\n<p>Like eagle&#8217;s wings, and they shall soar to heaven.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Proverb 23 6-9<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>From verses 6 to 9, we must understand that we do not need to be part of the circles of people who have achieved fortune or success in a selfish and greedy way. <strong> The truly successful people are those who manage to do good things with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tubibliaonline.com\/en\/humility-biblical-meaning\/\">humility<\/a> and love<\/strong>, and those are the ones who should be supported.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Proverb 23 10-12<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Moving to verse 12, we find one of the most beautiful verses of this chapter.<\/strong> It reminds us of the importance of teaching our knowledge and experiences with love and, above all, <strong>the importance of listening to others.<\/strong> In a world where everyone has a free opinion, it is necessary to listen to all possible opinions and learn to distinguish which of them are the most valid and which are not.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Apply your heart to teaching,<\/p>\n<p>And your ears to words of wisdom.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Proverb 23 13-16<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In the next four verses, the tone may seem rather violent, although it is a metaphor, indicating that <strong>children should be raised without fear<\/strong>, as they may find themselves in situations far worse than a quarrel if they are not guided in some way. We are also reminded that <strong>we should rejoice and show that joy to our children when they do well<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>13 Do not refuse to correct the boy;<\/p>\n<p>For if you punish him with a rod, he will not die.<\/p>\n<p>14 You shall punish him with a rod,<\/p>\n<p>And you will deliver his soul from Sheol.<\/p>\n<p>15 My son, if your heart is wise,<\/p>\n<p>My heart will be glad too;<\/p>\n<p>16 My loins also shall rejoice<\/p>\n<p>When your lips speak straight things.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Proverb 23 17-18<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In verses 17 and 18, the author <strong>makes us think about how easy it is to fall into the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tubibliaonline.com\/en\/temptatione-bible\/\">temptation<\/a> of envy<\/strong> for those who show an apparently happy life living in sin and away from the way of the Lord. Time in this life is limited and<strong> we should focus on doing well for ourselves<\/strong> and not be so dependent on the actions of others.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Proverb 23 19-21<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The next three <strong>drive us to perform actions<\/strong>, the effects of which reward us in the long term, since ephemeral actions will usually induce short-lived pleasure and worse consequences in the future.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Proverb 23 22<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Verse 22<strong> reminds us of the importance of listening to and loving our parents<\/strong> and verse 23 to always be on the side of truth and justice. All of them, <strong>pretend to give in a poetic way some moral teaching<\/strong> according to the Christian tradition, although we must understand that they were written many years ago and society has changed and evolved.<\/p>\n<p>From them, we can extract what has not changed over time and contextualize it to our current situation, since in the purest essence of the human being there is behavior that transcends the passage of time.<\/p>\n<p>As you have read and heard, <strong>Proverbs 23 is intended to educate society about the relationship one should have with everything material so as not to stray from God&#8217;s path.<\/strong> It is clear that we all have needs to survive, but often the line between need and vice is blurred.
